One of the biggest issues facing the NHS is a staff shortage, including doctors. Yet financial support for medical students falls far too short.

This is why I strongly support the aims of the ‘Liveable NHS Bursary’ campaign, which is backed by the Doctors’ Association UK, the British Medical Association, and thousands of student Doctors.

I wrote to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and other stakeholders in the NHS, to call for a comprehensive package of financial support for student doctors.
