Clive Lewis For Norwich South

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Chatterbox Talking Newspaper in Norwich and reading the latest news to their listeners. The charity is dedicated to supporting people who are vision impaired or blind by providing accessible audio publications.
Founded in 1978 as one of the UK’s first Talking Newspapers, Chatterbox has grown from recording on cassette tapes to using digital memory sticks and even smart home devices like Amazon Alexa. They share local news, magazine articles, and their own in-house publication, Just Talk, completely free of charge ensuring that their listeners stay informed and connected to their community.
It was inspiring to see the team’s dedication and learn more about the impact of their work. For many, Chatterbox is more than just a news source; it’s a vital lifeline that brings companionship, independence, and a sense of inclusion.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to visit them and look forward to more of their incredible work in the future.
